AMMAVUTA Family Jewellers formerly known as Victorian Diamond Traders story starts in 1945 at the close of the second world war. Leopoldo Ammavuta started his jewellery apprenticeship in 1945 for Geraci Company in Palermo, Italy, where he learned his craft from some of Italy’s finest master jewellers. Now Leopoldo has retired allowing the next generation to guide Victorian Diamond Traders into a new era. Ammavuta Family Jewellers will continue to provide high quality and unique jewellery pieces via its online selling platform.
AMMAVUTA Family Jewellers required a new eCommerce store to sell their range of stunning custom made jewellery. They also needed a logo and brand style guide. Being new to the eCommerce online world AMMAVUTA needed guidance, they wanted to find a company that could work with them and help them understand this unfamiliar space. To help build their brand and finally to align themselves with someone who gets their brand, their goals and their future dreams.
First and foremost we created the brand and logo. The logo was to be simple in design, modern and timeless. To reflect the long-term business goals and deliver a sense of quality and class. Black, white and light greys were used with a touch of colour being burgundy/red to add a bit of pop from the page.
Next, we created the design of the website, looking at how customers will react with the website and focussing on the UX and UI.
Udo offers AMMAVUTA an easy to use and powerful eCommerce platform. The beauty of Udo is how flexible and customisable the platform is allowing full control of content and the cart process. To upsell in the cart is a simple process that can be added at any time as well as adding dedicated landing pages for promotions or even a standout product. Udo is not your average eCommerce platform
The team at AMMAVUTA were able to take advantage of the drag and drop functionality including dragging images, videos and text straight into the pages making site population quick with the ability to take full control of different content types. The Udo platform comes with many standard features like accordions, faq's, content filters, galleries, panels and columns and a powerful form builder, With Udo they will also be able to take full control of how the content looks and displays, the site layouts, design, colours and fonts. The website was designed with an easy to use filter allowing customers to quickly find the piece of jewellery quickly.
There were important criteria to consider for the website build, for example, all the different devices used (laptops, tablets and mobiles) and countries from all around the world visiting the website using different technologies and internet access. These requirements included a secure online environment and backup system, fast site speed, responsive in design and mobile device friendly, cross-browser and search engine optimised, multi-level admin roles, ongoing support and a robust and secure hosting platform.
